Unclaimed Freight is a 4-piece, West Central, Illinois band whose members consist of Dale Jouett, Chris Deffenbaugh, Frank Mattioda & Mike Kozemczak. These four seasoned veterans have been playing music together for 14 years. They have all, at one time or another, toured with one or more road bands across the United States. Each member of “Unclaimed Freight” contributes his own flavor and style of play to the group. Frank, on drums and vocals, lays down the rock-solid beat & foundation that this band stands on. Chris, on bass & vocals, adds his intricate and impressive bass lines to the mix. Together Chris & Frank make up one of the most solid rhythm sections around. Dale, on lead guitar & vocals, adds his soulful but sassy style of guitar play. Whether he is playing a rock lead, a hot country lick or wrenching out one of his hair raising blues leads, Dale always seems to grab the attention of the crowd and drive the band to a higher level. Mike “Kozie” Kozemczak on lead, slide guitar & vocals is the newest member of the band. He brings with him an extremely tasteful & distinct blues style of play. “Kozie” is proving to be the icing on the cake for this group. Dale & Kozie have their own different styles of play, but the way the two of them gel together and the way their styles compliment the others is nothing more than sweet. All four members of the group sing lead and harmony vocals, and their combination is rich and blends very well together.

        Unclaimed Freight as a whole brings a vast song base to the table which includes classic rock, blues & country. The band usually plays a good, well-balanced variety of the 3 types of music in a four hour show, but on occasion the band is requested to play an all country night or all classic rock & blues night. Not to worry, “Unclaimed Freight” has proven they can cater to any crowd and for any occasion.
